OUR MISSION
Our mission is all about our Lord's great gift of salvation through grace and faith in his promises: to carry out the Great Commission of good news and servanthood that our Lord has for those who are his followers. We invite you to follow Jesus Christ and join us in our ministry to spread the good news and minister to those in need.
Westminster Presbyterian is a neighborhood church serving a come-as-you-are-comfortable community of worshipers who are on a Christ-centered-faith-journey-of-a-lifetime. We embrace new enquirers and seekers who are led to visit and experience worship with us. We warmly welcome as well those believers who are seeking a church family in which to be nurtured and to nurture. We respect open, honest discourse and discussion in an accepting and loving environment. We ask questions here and are enlightened in our quest by the living Word of God as it is delivered via the Holy Spirit to our hearts and minds.
As Christians, we believe that all of us here are sinners experience the astounding gift of forgiveness and continuous grace of our Lord and Savior. We, therefore, open our hearts and minds to both our ourselves and others in that same spirit of grace and forgiveness through God’s son, that Great Shepherd of His sheep.
We, the Westminster Presbyterian church family invites you to join us each Sunday in a traditional service complete with Acolytes, Choir Anthem, Hymns, Scripture Readings, and Prayer. Rev. McKell, our pastor, led by the Holy Spirit in our midst, refreshes our spirits by bringing our congregation together through worship and thoughtful discourse on Scriptural promises both timely and timeless.
Please join us every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for Christian Education classes, and at 11:00 a.m. for our weekly worship service. In addition, we celebrate our faith with two other special monthly events:
Each First Sunday we celebrate Holy Communion and all believers are invited to the Table of Our Lord.
Each last Sunday in the month we have an invigorating half-hour morning sing-along at 10:30. (All selections are out of the old red hymnal.) Music Director/organist Randy Terry and our choir more than compensate for any odd notes that break through as we sing forth the old favorites with gusto.
We’re not fancy-dressers here. We’d rather see you in jeans and sandals than not see you at all --- so, come as you are comfortable, just as you are, any time, any service. Here at Westminster, some wear jeans (including women) and others wear suits or dresses. We accept everyone and are far more interested in the person than the clothes. Please visit our photo gallery to see a typical gathering. This will give you some idea of our many varieties of dress at our gatherings.
We ask that you visit Westminster and share worship, prayer, music, mission, and (but, of course!) food. Please come and share our daily renewal of joy and gratitude to be accepted as God’s children.
